Labels can be used to tie different items of content together in FiscalNote. You can create these connections on the basis of any themes or relationships you want to document in your account. All Labels are visible to anyone who can log into your organization's FiscalNote account, so Labels can help you and your colleagues stay aligned on important information.
Below are just a few examples of ways you can use Labels within FiscalNote.
Divide your Issues into sub-issues
Impose granularity on the content within an Issue. For example, within an Issue addressing Higher Education you could add labels to content that addresses relevant topics like “Student Debt” or "STEM." This keeps you from creating more Issues than you need while granting you the option to focus on a particular concern within a broader initiative.
Connect your content across Issues
Trace a common thread between discrete but related content. For example, you Label all appropriations bills with “Appropriations” and still keep those bills in the corresponding Issues.
Link Stakeholders and Drive content to relevant legislation, regulations, or legislators
Contacts, Organizations, Links, and Files can receive Labels. While it is possible to express relationships between this content and other information in FiscalNote via Notes or direct links, applying a Label quickly creates a shared context that you can scale to include additional relevant information.
