You might be wondering why you were not alerted with an action for an issue that you are tracking. Here's a quick guide on which actions trigger an alert:
When actions are detected on one of the following fields for the bill, it triggers an alert depending on your alert settings:
Bill Timeline
- New/modified bill actions
- New/modified bill status
- New/modified sponsors/cosponsors
- New/modified bill title
- New/modified bill summary
Committee Events and Agendas
A committee event is when the committee schedules a meeting for public discussion of the bill.
An agenda is a listing of the bills to be discussed at an event.
Please note that a bill action (e.g. first/second/third reading) is different from a committee event. We use the agenda to add committee events to the bills and user calendars.
The easiest way to double-check events/actions is to click on the source link from FiscalNote. FiscalNote only pulls data from the source, so if any issues occur, it may not come through as instantly as the page source itself.
Note: We are constantly rolling out updates and making improvements in the platform. Please help us keep the Help Center up to date by reporting any information that may need some updating at support@fiscalnote.com.
