If you think that you are not receiving alerts or something doesn't seem right with your alerts, here are some ways to troubleshoot:
- Go to your Alerts Inbox and click on the Discovery Alert you want to troubleshoot:
2. Click on Edit Alert Criteria. If everything seems to be set up correctly, do a manual search by copying the keywords and applying the same filters used to set up the alert.
3. You can sort the results by Last Updated Date to see which bills or regulations should have been matched or were not matched.
If there were matches and it did not appear on your alerts, it may be that you have accidentally marked it as irrelevant or have added it into an Issue Folder. You can utilize the Inbox Filters found at the left panel to double check on this:
4. You may also want to check the document's Publication Date against the creation date of your Discovery Alert.
If the document was published prior to the creation of your Discovery Alert, then it will not show up on your inbox even it matches your criteria because the system does not support backfilling policy that was last updated before the creation date of the Discovery Alert. However, if new updates were published after the discovery alert’s creation date, it should be caught by your alerts.
IMPORTANT: Discovery Alerts may not match entities that are updated long after their most recent legislative action (e.g. 14 days in the past for US bills), however, there is no restriction against alerting on future-dated entities.
Lastly, if you haven't been receiving alerts for days and your Alert Options is set for Daily Digests, you may want to check with your IT Team if FiscalNote needs to be whitelisted. If already done and the issue persists, please report it to support@fiscalnote.com and we will investigate further.
Note: We are constantly rolling out updates and making improvements in the platform. Please help us keep the Help Center up to date by reporting any information that may need some updating at support@fiscalnote.com.
